Los Mochis to El Fuerte
The odyssey begins as you arrive in Los Mochis and transfer to the historic town of El Fuerte for the night. You will be starting at the Hotel La Choza (popular) or Posada Del Hidalgo.
El Fuerte to Cerocahui
The adventure begins in earnest as you board the "ChePe" first class train at approximately 9:05 am. Today, traverse the most scenic segment of the railroad, climbing from sea level to an elevation of more than 6200 feet. Mountains and canyons stretch as far as the eye can see. Upon arriving Bahuichivo at 1:10 pm, you are shuttled nearly 45 minutes to the most scenic mountain village in Northern Mexico - Cerocahui. We recommend upgrading to the Mision Hotel, which is located in the heart of this historic hamlet. After lunch, you will go on a 3.5 hour long Urique Canyon tour, which includes stops at the highest overlook readily available to tourist, a cave home, a rancho and the Virgencita Spring. (Dinner)
Cerocahui to Creel
Today, travel from Cerocahui to Creel, crossing the Continental Pass in the process. Upon arriving, you will be transferred to the Hotel Best Western (or similar). This afternoon enjoy a local tour of the city, Mission, Indian Caves and the Lake Area. (Breakfast & Lunch)

Creel to Divisadero
After breakfast, re-board the ChePe train for your short trip to Divisadero, which is the crown jewel of the region. The views from the rim of the canyon are breathtaking. You can stay at the Mansion Tarahumara (with a valley view) or upgrade to the Posada Mirador Hotel, which is perched on the rim of the canyon. We highly recommend upgrading to the Posada Mirador to enjoy the views of the canyon. You might want to spend two nights! (Dinner)
Divisadero to Los Mochis
After lunch, re-board the ChePe for a scenic train ride back to El Fuerte. This portion of the trip is undoubtedly the most scenic, descending nearly 5300 feet through rugged mountains and deep canyons. Keep your camera handy - you will need it. You are scheduled to arrive in Los Mochis at 10:25 pm. You will be transferred to the Plaza Inn upon arrival. (Breakfast & Lunch)
Los Mochis
The tour comes to a close as you are transferred to the airport for your trip home.
