Begin your journey on board the blue and gold carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express in Istanbul and travel throughout Turkey and Bulgaria. Spend overnight on board and arrive the next day in Bucharest for your night in this fascinating city. The next day continue your journey towards Hungary before arriving in the capital, Budapest, the next morning. Enjoy a sightseeing tour and your stay overnight. Upon rejoining the train the next day, travel into Austria and stop for a short city tour in Vienna. Enjoy your last night onboard as the train crosses into Italy and on to your final destination, Venice.

Detailed day by day information
Friday
Mid afternoon, check in at Istanbul’s Sirecki station to board the blue and gold Wagons-Lits of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. As the train leaves the station, you’ll glimpse magnificent views of the Sea of Marmara. Dinner and overnight on board the train.

Saturday
Continental breakfast is served in your compartment as the train travels through Bulgaria and on to Romania. After lunch onboard, the VSOE arrives in Bucharest. Enjoy an early afternoon tour of the city. Dinner and overnight in Bucharest at the Athenée Palace Hilton Hotel.

Sunday
This morning rejoin the train for the short journey to the mountain town of Sinaia. On arrival, transfer to a local restaurant for lunch and then on to Peles Castle, the Summer home of the former King Carol. This beautiful castle was also visited by the very first Orient-Express guests in 1883. Return to the station late afternoon and your journey continues towards Hungary. Dinner and overnight on board.

Monday
Arrive in Budapest this morning and enjoy a city sightseeing tour of this city that is split into two parts by the Danube river. Lunch is provided before transferring to the Sofitel Hotel for an overnight stay. Dinner and overnight in Budapest.

Tuesday
Transfer to the station mid morning and rejoin the train. Lunch is served as the train crosses into Austria, arriving in Vienna late afternoon, where you disembark for a visit to this beautiful city. Rejoin the train for dinner and your final night on board.

Wednesday
After breakfast on board whilst traveling through Italy, arrive in Venice mid morning and disembark into the famous and romantic city.
