Join us for a fun-filled evening of murder-mystery and mayhem! It's up to you to solve the mystery as the action unfolds before your eyes. Eighteen intriguing mysteries will be presented throughout the season. Each event includes dinner served on the train, cash bar, and entertainment. Murder mystery trains begin in June and run through mid-December at 6:00 PM. The round trip lasts approximately 3 1/2 hours. Advanced reservation with a minimum of 5 days notice is required.
NOTE: Murder Mystery shows are designed for an adult audience and may contain some mild adult humor. No child fares or menus are provided. Children may ride for the adult fare at parents' discretion.
Two seemingly sweet and loving elderly aunts host a gala wedding reception for their nephew, who they raised, and his bride. As with any wedding things don't always go as planned especially when an unexpected visitor from the past joins the party. Join us for cake, punch and murder.
A group of actors onboard the train is heading for opening night…with murder on their minds!! Here, the unique aspect is that the murder takes place during a "rehearsal" of their show, "Titanic: Ship of Fools". A long time railroad entrepreneur's daughter is to be wed. No expense is too much for the newlyweds to be. The wedding is derailed when the wedding planner decides to take over the wedding resulting in a deadly devastating debut for the young couple. A 1950’s time capsule piece featuring Greg the Greaser, Mary Lou, Dimwit Donnie, and Frenchy as they prepare for their big dance at Hicksville High. As the haunting Buddy Holly song plays, murder is in the air…and we finally discover who really slew Peggy Sue!! Performance by: Valentines Productions
Opening of Cocoa Sweet Shop. The day that you have all been craving is almost here! Join us as the new candy shop in town is unveiled and the owner shares her newest Chocolate coated sensation. Make sure that your name is on the guest list. Anticipation mounts as there are several townspeople who are not excited this sweet shop. The sweet combination of confrontation and a deadly secret ingredient lead to a dark chocolate ending. Come and taste the excitement for yourself.
Come one come all! Join the Ding-a-Ling Brothers Circus troop as they make their way through the beautiful hills of Western Maryland. While traveling to the next destination town you will find yourself center ring with people like a Lion Tamer and a Ring Master during final preparations for the next performance, when one of the death defying performers are found mysteriously dead. With the well-known characters of Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, and others, this is sure to be a classic mystery! Just like the board game, the patrons have to guess the murderer AND the weapon…. candlestick, lead pipe, revolver, knife, rope….and maybe a gun! Performance by: Valentines Productions
Join our bumbling undercover agent as he is given his final chance to rid the world of an evil scheming genius. With the stakes this high he must catch the criminal to save the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad and his job. Everything could be lost especially as his family tags along for the ride. Come along and see if he can save the world from certain destruction or if this is his final ride. With secret agents, double agents, and an evil genius this has the makings of a hilarious homicide.
Another favorite of the patrons, where the actors play two different roles, one male and one female. The murder scene includes a foot stompin' hoe down, and a chase you'll never forget in this hilarious down-home mystery! Performance by: Valentines Productions
Two strangers happen to meet on the train and exchange their family difficulties. The subject of hypothetical mutually beneficial homicides to solve each other’s dilemmas is briefly discussed. Someone makes the hypothetical become a reality. Who could do such a thing? Why would someone do such a thing? Come unravel the clues and find the real murderer. Performance by: Bostaph Productions
With apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan’s Pirates of Penzance, we go all aboard this sinking ship with Captain Bacardi, first mate Morgan, and of course, a pirate wench or two with music and song emphasized in our pirate murder mystery.
Welcome to an evening of ghoulish entertainment. Join the participants of “Monster Bash ‘2010” where monsters and ghouls alike compete for the title of “Head Haunt of the Show”. With so many terrifying characters in one place things someone is sure meet their maker. Come in costume and join in the competition.
What better way to spend the Halloween season than with a gaggle of ghouls, including Dracula, Wolfman, Vampira, Mummy Frankenstein, and the Bride of Frankenstein. They all have a howling good time… until one resorts to murder!
Seems to be a big problem on campus with the big man on campus – the captain of the football team. When valuables start to disappear, Jim Nasium is the local suspect. But let’s not forget the old coach, the wild cheerleader, or the other crazy characters in this campus caper.
WWII solider returns home to find his hometown turned upside down. He discovers a new business in town is not selling merchandise but secrets. When the word reaches the War Department he is reassigned to investigate the spy ring. This tale of a hometown hero, secret spies, government agents, and espionage has all the markings of murder. A spoof from “The Godfather” and the “Sopranos” genre. The unique aspect is that the murder has already taken place at the shows start. The patrons also get to view a crime scene at the depot as well as attend a funeral service for the dearly departed.
A perennial season success with the Cratchit Family, Tiny Tim, various ghost, and old Scrooge himself as old Ebenezer finally gets what’s coming to him. We have never seen this Christmas Classic told quite like this!!
